About Ukrainian Statehood Day
Ukrainian Statehood Day was established in 2021 to honour the long history of Ukrainian statehood, including the medieval state of Kyivan Rus. It coincides with the feast of Saint Volodymyr the Great, who baptised Kyivan Rus; since 2024 it falls on 15 July, after the change of the church calendar. Under martial law it is a working day.
